Baroque illusionism and concrete art, the real world and constructivism, media messages of salvation and social reality: Myriam Thyes makes interesting breaks and connections visible in her artistic work. Her gaze is directed both at historical events and at our contemporary society, in which different visual and social cultures merge into one another. The artist captures this 'crossover' in photographs and image montages as well as through her video art, in which she effectively uses the suggestive potential of new media and state-of-the-art 3D technology for her themes and content. Forms and motifs that float towards the viewer and through the space, that overlap, dissolve and reform, allow us to experience the proximity between different religious and cosmic world views in an impressive way.
