Art.class!

In co-operation with the Fritz Winter Comprehensive School in Ahlen

Museums and schools play an important role in providing orientation and cultural education. Information and media skills are of decisive importance for the future organisation of life.

In the 2007/08 school year, the Fritz Winter Comprehensive School in Ahlen launched the model project ‘Kunst.Klasse!’. The focus for pupils from year 5 onwards is on the intensive study of artistic subjects and the realisation of artistic projects. This is reflected in the timetable. From the very beginning, collaboration with the Kunstmuseum Ahlen has been at the centre of this concept. The art classes regularly visit our exhibitions and carry out creative tasks independently. Supported by our museum educators, they encounter various artistic and social themes and learn about the design principles, techniques and concepts that artists use to express their view of reality. Artistic works are created that can be not only visual, but also linguistic, dance or theatrical in nature.
