Women come together for breakfast in an inviting atmosphere. Together, a rich buffet of international delicacies is put together, reflecting the diversity of cultures and culinary traditions of the participants. The breakfast offers women the opportunity to get to know each other, share stories, get creative together and learn from each other. Through openness and tolerance, friendships are formed and togetherness is strengthened.
By collaborating with local community groups, social organisations and cultural institutions, the women's breakfast becomes a holistic experience. It was launched in February 2014 by Laina Remer, the integration team of the city of Ahlen and the family education centre.
Creative workshops, events and talks are held to stimulate dialogue and contribute to intercultural exchange and understanding. The International Women's Breakfast is therefore not only a celebration of cultural diversity, but also an example of successful cooperation and community solidarity. The Kunstmuseum Ahlen co-operates with the International Women's Breakfast time and again – by sharing meals, offering guided tours or workshops.
